Bridge over Troubled Water

Bridge over Troubled Water was released in 2017 as a charity single organised by Simon Cowell to support those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire in London. Credited to Artists for Grenfell, the recording brought together a large group of British performers.

Robbie Williams was among the contributing vocalists on the track, which is a cover of the 1970 Simon and Garfunkel song written by Paul Simon. Produced by Steve Mac, the arrangement features orchestral backing and shared lead lines distributed among the participating artists.

The single was recorded shortly after the June 2017 tragedy, with proceeds directed to the London Community Foundation. The collaborative format reflected the tradition of UK charity ensemble recordings.

Bridge over Troubled Water debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart. Williams’ participation aligned him with a broad coalition of artists supporting fundraising efforts in response to the disaster.
