French Action Hero

French Action Hero is an unreleased recording by The Connects featuring Robbie Williams, recorded around 2012. The Los Angeles based rap collective, formed by Dylan Trussell and David Dinetz, collaborated with Williams during a period when he was living in the United States. The track was never officially issued and has circulated only through online uploads.

Built around a hip hop production, the song combines rap verses from The Connects with a melodic chorus performed by Williams. The title references Belgian actor Jean Claude Van Damme, humorously framed as a French action hero. Williams delivers the refrain “I want to be your French action hero,” contrasting his sung hook with the group’s rhythm driven verses.

Through The Connects’ network, Williams was introduced to Tim Metcalfe and Flynn Francis, who later became regular collaborators.
