- 1. He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother ft. Various Artists 04:33
He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother was released in December 2012 as a charity single credited to The Justice Collective. The recording was organised to raise funds for the families affected by the Hillsborough disaster and featured a large group of artists and public figures.
Robbie Williams was among the contributors to the ensemble recording. The song, originally written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell and popularised by The Hollies in 1969, was re recorded with a choral arrangement reflecting the collective nature of the project.
The single was produced by Guy Chambers and others, with proceeds directed towards legal and charitable support for the victims’ families. Williams’ participation formed part of a broad coalition of musicians backing the campaign.
The release reached number one on the UK Singles Chart for Christmas 2012, becoming that year’s Christmas number one. It stands as one of several high profile charity collaborations in which Williams has taken part.
