My Happy Place is the fourth solo studio album by Emma Bunton, released on 12 April 2019. The album features a guest appearance by Robbie Williams on the duet 2 Become 1, a reinterpretation of the Spice Girls’ 1996 single. The collaboration brought together two prominent figures of 1990s British pop.
The new version of 2 Become 1 was recorded as a stripped back ballad, with Williams sharing lead vocals and harmonies. The arrangement favours piano and orchestral elements, presenting a more mature reading of the original. Bunton and Williams had previously expressed mutual admiration, and the duet marked their first official studio collaboration.
Lyrically, the song retains its themes of intimacy and emotional connection, while the updated production emphasises warmth and nostalgia. Williams’ vocal complements Bunton’s softer tone, creating a conversational dynamic across the verses and chorus.
