Pocket Rocket was released as the second single from Britpop in 2026, following the lead single Rocket. Its release continued the album’s guitar led campaign and reinforced the Britpop influenced direction first introduced by Rocket.
The recording maintains the project’s emphasis on prominent guitars and live band instrumentation. In contrast to the heavier edge associated with Rocket, Pocket Rocket presents a more concise and energetic arrangement, while remaining rooted in the same performance driven aesthetic.
Lyrically, Pocket Rocket adopts a direct and anthemic tone. The structure reflects the broader identity of Britpop, combining immediacy with a stripped back production style that distinguishes this phase of Williams’ work from the more polished pop sound of earlier releases.
As the second single, Pocket Rocket consolidated the stylistic pivot signalled by Rocket, positioning the album firmly within a lineage of British guitar music and underlining the cohesive intent behind the project’s rollout.
