Since I Saw You Last is the third solo studio album by Gary Barlow, released on 25 November 2013. The album marked Barlow’s return to solo recording after more than a decade and was issued following his renewed success with Take That and his television work.
Robbie Williams contributed to the album as a songwriter, co writing the track Requiem with Barlow. Williams does not appear as a vocalist on the recording. The collaboration represented a continued professional association between the former Take That bandmates during a period of renewed communication.
Requiem is presented as a reflective ballad within the album’s tracklist, fitting the introspective tone that characterises much of Since I Saw You Last. The production foregrounds piano and orchestral elements, aligning with the record’s polished contemporary pop sound.
The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Williams’ songwriting contribution to Requiem forms part of the wider narrative of reconciliation and creative exchange between the two artists in the 2010s.
