About
Included on Britpop Deluxe, released on 19 January 2026, 100% Beau is the album’s most openly paternal moment. Context leaves little ambiguity. The song is written for Williams’ youngest son, Beau, completing a sequence of deeply personal tracks he has written for each of his children. It is co-written with Gaz Coombes of Supergrass, whose melodic restraint and lyrical clarity suit the song’s reflective tone.
The lineage is clear. Go Gentle was addressed to Teddy, Coco’s Christmas Lullaby to Coco, and Motherfucker to Charlie. With 100% Beau, that thread reaches its natural conclusion. Where earlier songs wrestled with protection, guilt or legacy, this one is calmer, lighter and more assured.
Lyrically, Williams steps back rather than instructing. The refrain insists on belief without interference. “You know the deal, let’s not mess with the magic” becomes both reassurance and restraint. The repeated “100%” functions as commitment rather than bravado.
Set against images of freedom, growth and self-determination, the song reflects a father older, steadier and more trusting than before.
