About
Bad Sharon is the sixth track on the Christmas Future disc of The Christmas Present. Written by Robbie Williams, Karl Brazil and Ben Castle, it pairs Williams with heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury in one of the album’s most playful and unconventional collaborations.
The song was born from Williams’s idea of “owning” annual celebrations through music—first birthdays, then Christmas, and possibly New Year. After meeting Fury before a Las Vegas boxing match, Williams invited him to sing on the track, impressed by his charisma and surprisingly strong voice. Fury later recalled that he had the song “on nonstop since the summer” after recording his part.
Musically, Bad Sharon is a raucous brass-driven pub anthem, portraying the chaos and camaraderie of an office Christmas party. Its lyrics blend British humour and working-class cheer: “Grab Bad Sharon from the office, nick the champagne, let’s get off it just in time for Auld Lang Syne.” The arrangement’s swinging horns and driving rhythm give it a festival feel, while its comedic edge keeps it unmistakably Williams.
“Bad Sharon is a drunk Christmas. You’ve been in an office all year and now it’s time to let your hair down.”Robbie Williams
The collaboration attracted wide media attention, both for its novelty and for the evident rapport between the two performers. Although not released as a single, Bad Sharon became a fan favourite for its irreverent spirit and infectious energy, embodying the more mischievous side of The Christmas Present.
