Robbie Williams has performed Shaggy’s 2000 hit It Wasn’t Me as a brief a cappella interlude during his Live in Las Vegas residency at the Wynn Las Vegas in March and June 2019. The shows, staged in the Encore Theater, mixed big band numbers with comic set pieces, and the Shaggy excerpt formed part of a light hearted mid-show routine with his band.

The segment was not a full cover but a spontaneous vocal sketch. Williams and members of the band delivered the song’s well known chorus without instrumentation, using it as a humorous transition between arranged numbers. The choice fit the residency’s variety format, which alternated polished swing arrangements with informal audience interaction.

Williams treated the lyric playfully, leaning into its conversational rhythm while keeping the delivery tight enough to land as a recognisable nod to the original. The band’s supporting vocals added to the comedic effect, framing the moment as a deliberately incongruous detour from the show’s orchestral core.
