About
Let’s Go All the Way was recorded by The Wondergirls featuring Ashley Hamilton and Robbie Williams, and appeared on the soundtrack album *Heroes Fall: Music Inspired by Iron Man 3*, released on 30 April 2013. The track originated from a 1999 rock supergroup project called The Wondergirls, founded by Hamilton and comprising Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, Ian Astbury of The Cult and Shannon Leto of Thirty Seconds to Mars. The revived version for the Marvel soundtrack featured new vocals from Williams, making it his first contribution to a superhero film project.
The song is a cover of the 1985 hit by Sly Fox, written by Gary “Mudbone” Cooper and Michael Camacho. The updated recording transforms the original synth-funk track into a heavier, guitar-led rock anthem with modern production and cinematic scale. While Hamilton takes the lead vocal, Williams’s voice can be heard throughout the choruses and harmonies, his distinctive tone cutting through the layered mix.
Williams joined the project through his long-standing friendship with Hamilton, with whom he has written and recorded several times since the early 2000s. The collaboration combined their shared love of classic rock and theatrical pop, offering a one-off crossover between Williams’s mainstream style and Hamilton’s Hollywood-inflected alternative sound. The track played over promotional materials for the film, though not in its theatrical release.
“It’s just a bit of fun really. I love rock songs that have a sense of drama, and this one fitted perfectly with the superhero thing.”Robbie Williams
While Let’s Go All the Way was a minor release, it stands as a curious footnote in Williams’s catalogue, bridging his pop persona with cinematic rock. Its inclusion on the *Iron Man 3* companion album introduced his voice to a new audience and added another unexpected collaboration to his varied post-Take the Crown output.
