About

Pretty Woman was released as part of Heavy Entertainment Show and was written by Robbie Williams, Ed Sheeran, Steve Robson, Benny Blanco and Chris Sclafani. It was produced by Robson, a Grammy-nominated English songwriter and producer who has also worked with Take That, James Morrison and Olly Murs. The track marked one of Williams’ first collaborations with Sheeran, blending both artists’ melodic pop sensibilities.

The song originated when Williams emailed Sheeran in August 2016, asking whether he had any “spare bangers.” Sheeran sent over a draft called Pretty Woman, which Williams loved but felt lacked a chorus. He wrote one himself, giving the song a fuller pop structure while keeping Sheeran’s rhythm and lyrical tone intact. The final version became a lively, flirtatious dance-pop track with funk-inspired guitar and layered vocals.

Lyrically, Pretty Woman celebrates attraction and admiration in a nightclub setting, filled with playful lines such as “You shake what you’ve been given from your mama.” Williams said the song was about “a woman in a club who’s driving you crazy, and you’d love to date her, befriend her, have her fancy you; all of the above.”

“I emailed Ed because I was having a neurotic panic about my album, a slight confidence crisis. He sent me this one over. Great song, great beat, great lyric, great vibe.”Robbie Williams

Pretty Woman became a fan favourite during promotional appearances for the album, performed live at the BBC Radio 2 sessions, Amazon Prime’s launch show, and at Heart Radio’s Christmas concert. Although never released as a single, it showcased Williams’ adaptability and willingness to collaborate with younger artists while maintaining his signature wit and confidence.

Lyrics

Hey pretty woman I wanna take you out
I know a place we can move our feet downtown
Ease into the rhythm when I hear that sound
My momma told me and I do not back down

Hey pretty woman I love the way you move
Winding down low to that bassline grove
The way you're dancing got me in the mood
Daddy told me it's what grown folks do

Let me tell you now
Hey pretty woman Imma testify
Hey pretty woman make a grown man cry

You can make me beg
Take my last dollar
Oh honey you can take it anywhere you wanna
The way you move your leg
Well it just ain't proper
Why don't you shake what you've been given from your momma

Hey pretty woman come and hold my hand
Dance the charleston to that old swing band
I know that it's getting late but you don't mind
Let's take a taxi and get back to mine

Hey pretty woman, your daddy don't know
Take what you want from me, I can't say no
Just put your hands on my body let me taste your lips
I put my hands on your body baby work those hips

You can make me beg
Take my last dollar
Oh honey you can take it anywhere you wanna
The way you move your leg
Well it just ain't proper
Why don't you shake what you've been given from your momma

Hey pretty woman now now now I'm in love
You are the only one I'm thinking of
Hey pretty woman, if you feel the same
Just say hey there boy bring that beat back again

You can make me beg
Take my last dollar
Oh honey you can take it anywhere you wanna
The way you move your leg
Well it just ain't proper
Why don't you shake what you've been given from your momma

You can make me beg
Take my last dollar
Oh honey you can take it anywhere you wanna
The way you move your leg
Well it just ain't proper
Why don't you shake what you've been given from your momma
