The Days is a collaboration between Swedish DJ and producer Avicii and Robbie Williams, written by Williams with Avicii (Tim Bergling), Brandon Flowers, Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare. It was released worldwide on 3 October 2014 as part of the double single The Days / The Nights. Originally intended to feature Flowers on vocals, the track was re-recorded with Williams after Avicii felt his voice better suited the song’s euphoric tone.
The track blends Avicii’s trademark melodic house production with Williams’ warm, expressive vocal delivery. Built around a bright guitar riff and an uplifting electronic rhythm, The Days celebrates youthful optimism and fleeting love. Its chorus, “These are the days we’ve been waiting for,” captures the song’s nostalgic message, balancing festival energy with introspective pop craftsmanship. It became one of Avicii’s most radio-friendly singles, appealing across dance and mainstream audiences.
The Days achieved major international success, reaching number one in Sweden, Hungary and the Czech Republic, and the top ten across much of Europe and Australasia. In the United Kingdom, it charted despite not receiving a full physical release, and in the United States it marked Williams’ first entry on the Billboard chart since Angels in 1999. Its lyric video has surpassed 200 million views on YouTube.
