Le Rôle de Ta Vie is the French-language adaptation of Robbie Williams’s 2016 song Time on Earth, released as part of the French edition of the album The Heavy Entertainment Show. Created specifically for Francophone markets, it presents a full French lyric set to the original melody, offering an alternative interpretation of one of the album’s more theatrical tracks.

The adaptation preserves the dramatic, mid-tempo character of Time on Earth, retaining its combination of piano, strings and rhythmic build. Williams re-recorded his entire vocal in French, mirroring the cadence and emotional shape of the English version while adjusting phrasing to accommodate the new text. The translated lyric follows the same narrative arc of performance, identity and emotional vulnerability.

Musically identical to the album version, Le Rôle de Ta Vie highlights Williams’s delivery in a second language and places greater focus on the song’s cinematic arrangement.
