About

Written by Robbie Williams and Ashley Hamilton, Wimmin was first performed live on Williams’ 2001 *Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs & Stadiums* tour before being released as a single by Hamilton in 2003, reaching number 27 in the UK. Williams’ version was never officially released, though a live recording circulates among fans. The track’s raw rock energy and provocative lyrics mark it as one of the cheekier outtakes from the Escapology era.

The collaboration came after Williams and Hamilton met in Los Angeles and began writing together. Built around a punchy guitar riff and call-and-response chorus, the song is a tongue-in-cheek ode to hedonism and male ego, pairing swaggering verses with self-aware humour. “Nice tits, nice ass, no class, no conversation,” Williams sings in a sneering drawl that borders on parody. Its brash tone captures the laddish excess of the early 2000s while hinting that Williams is in on the joke.

It’s not a deep one. Just two lads in L.A. having a laugh, writing a song about the chaos of our lives at the time. Ashley ran with it and put it out himself.Robbie Williams

Though controversial for its explicit and objectifying lyrics, the track’s exaggerated bravado and pop-punk energy suggest satire more than sincerity. In Hamilton’s hands, it leaned toward American radio rock, while Williams’ live version carried more irony and wit. Wimmin' remains a curiosity — a raucous, tongue-in-cheek relic of Williams’ wild Los Angeles period, as much self-parody as celebration.

Lyrics

If your daddy didn't love you let me give you validation
(nice tits, nice ass, no class or conversation)
And in school you got picked on for being a geek
(what a wonderful woman you grew up to be)

I like wimmin I go wimmin every Friday
I like to get my feet wet, my teeth wet
I think it's time I found myself a supermodel
I haven't had one of those yet

You said you dealt well when your parents separated
(lots of drugs, lots of boys, lots of battery operated)
Oh daddy dear look what you did to your daughter
She had an eating disorder

I like wimmin I go wimmin every Friday
I like to get my feet wet, my teeth wet
I think it's time I found myself a supermodel
I haven't had one of those yet

Oh baby look what happened to you
He loved you for who you are
A disco queen a wrecking machine
Go to war
I like wimmin I go wimmin every Friday
I like to get my feet wet, my teeth wet
I think it's time I found myself a supermodel
I haven't had one of those yet

Yeah yeah yeah
Oh oh oh ohh ohh ohh
Yeah yeah yeah
Oh oh oh ohh ohh ohh
Yeah yeah yeah
Oh oh oh ohh ohh ohh

Yeah yeah yeah
Oh oh oh ohh ohh ohh
Yeah yeah yeah
Oh oh oh ohh ohh ohh
Yeah yeah yeah
Oh oh oh ohh ohh ohh
