Beat Bugs was released in 2016 as a children’s television series inspired by the music of The Beatles. The soundtrack albums feature contemporary artists performing new interpretations of Beatles songs for the programme.
Robbie Williams contributed a version of Good Day Sunshine to the project. The song, originally written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and released on Revolver in 1966, was re recorded with a bright, family friendly arrangement suited to the animated series.
Williams’ interpretation maintains the upbeat tone of the original while presenting it within a modern production context. His involvement placed him among a diverse group of artists participating in the reimagining of Beatles material for a younger audience.
The Beat Bugs project introduced classic Beatles compositions to a new generation, with Williams’ contribution forming part of its wider cross generational appeal.
