Eternity / The Road to Mandalay - XXV

Eternity / The Road to Mandalay XXV is a double A side re recording released in 2022 as part of Robbie Williams’ anniversary album XXV. The songs revisit the 2001 single originally issued from Sing When You’re Winning, reinterpreted to mark twenty five years of his solo career.

Both tracks were newly recorded with the Metropole Orkest and produced by Jules Buckley. The updated arrangements replace the original pop production with expanded orchestration, emphasising strings, brass and dynamic shifts. The approach aligns with the broader concept of XXV, which presents orchestral versions of key songs from across Williams’ catalogue.

Eternity, written by Williams and Guy Chambers, retains its reflective tone, while The Road to Mandalay preserves its theatrical character and rhythmic drive. The XXV versions showcase a more mature vocal performance, shaped by two decades of live interpretation.

Released as a single from XXV, Eternity / The Road to Mandalay XXV revisits one of Williams’ early 2000s chart successes, reframing it within a symphonic context and reaffirming its place in his repertoire.
