Heavy Entertainment Show was released in November 2016 as Robbie Williams’ eleventh studio album. It marked his first release through Sony Music following his departure from Universal, and was preceded by the title track as lead single.
The album was written and recorded in collaboration with long term creative partner Guy Chambers, whose return signalled a renewed focus on large scale pop songwriting. Sessions took place in London and Los Angeles, with the project conceived as a celebratory statement of Williams’ place in mainstream entertainment.
Musically, Heavy Entertainment Show blends brass led pop, orchestral flourishes and arena ready choruses. Guest appearances include Ed Sheeran on Pretty Woman and John Grant on I Don’t Want to Hurt You, broadening the album’s stylistic range while maintaining its theatrical tone.
