About this Release

Life Thru a Lens 25th Anniversary Edition was released in 2022 to mark twenty five years since Robbie Williams’ debut solo album Life Thru a Lens, first issued in 1997. The anniversary release revisits the record that launched his solo career following his departure from Take That.

The edition presents the original album alongside additional material, including demos, rare recordings and previously unreleased tracks from the era. The expanded format documents the songwriting partnership between Williams and Guy Chambers, whose collaboration shaped the sound of the original release.

Upon its initial release, Life Thru a Lens produced the single Angels, which became a defining song in Williams’ catalogue and contributed to the album’s long term commercial success. The anniversary edition contextualises that breakthrough within a broader collection of period material.
